Our aim is to offer young people unique values and the experience that only contact with nature can guarantee. We believe that by cultivating such contact together with other children under the guidance and supervision of experienced escorts, we can help develop values and skills such as self-confidence, initiative, respect, communication, responsibility, fair play, and enable them to acquire a more tangible knowledge of nature and the natural environment.
Of course, at the same time you can rest assured that your kids will have “the holidays of a lifetime”!
There are three basic prongs to our camping programme and activities:
- Education – Culture
- Special Sports Activities
- Creativity – Leisure
Education – Culture encompasses aspects of environmental education which is achieved through observation and hands-on experience. Under the guidance of experts, children observe and record flowers, animals and trees; experience images, touch sensations and sounds and learn to identify and understand the special role of each one in the ecosystem. Taking part in excursions and walks, they will also learn to identify the man-made elements of the natural environment gradually building up an understanding of man's relationship with nature.
At the same time training will be provided on practical issues that are useful throughout their life such as:
- First Aid
- Emergency management (earthquakes, floods, fires)
- Basic elements of meteorology & survival outdoors.
Our special sports activities will enable them to learn about and become familiar with most of the exciting sports related to nature from experienced instructors. Canoeing, archery, mountain biking, mountaineering, rock climbing, rappelling, flying fox, paintball, river and lake swimming, use of special equipment, map and compass reading skills, daylight orienteering and night-time orienteering using the stars, construction games and trust-building games are just some of the activities on offer. The programme also includes more ‘conventional' sports activities such as volleyball, football and tae kwon do.
To crown the multifaceted approach taken in these three sectors, at the end of their stay children will be awarded a special honorary - commemorative diploma.
